My 7 year old son found out today that this song was dedicated to his great great grandfather and is over the moon to have someone famous in the family. I remember going to a dedication to Sir Percy at Hereford cathedral and now wish I had known more about him at the time to ask more questions and find out more about his life. Immensely proud that my great grandfather was significant enough in Elgar’s life that he dedicated this march to him

With a wry sense of wit, a knowledge of his duties as King, and a loving family man. And deeply saddened by the loss of America. So---which depiction is the right one?
